Smartphone, Tablet or Phablet: which one to buy and why?

In craze of smart devices, smartphones, tablets, phablets are available in market. But a big problem is, which one to buy and why? Smartphone, tablet, phablet are smart devices for use but all are different.

Smartphone is a mobile phone with more advanced computing capability. Smartphones typically include features of phones like a media player, a digital camera etc. Afterwards, smartphone includes these features like touchscreen, including web browsing, Wi-Fi.

Tablet, is a mobile computer that is primarily operated by touching the screen. Tablet is typically larger than smartphone. Tablet is a portable device for entertainment, web browsing, playing games, taking notes with clarity.

A phablet is class of mobile device designed to combine functions of smartphone and tablet. At present time, number of people are using smart devices. Hither, we are discussing about some differences of smartphone, tablet or phablet which will be helpful for buyer.

Screen Sizes: In earlier days, normally feature phones had launched. Along with, people were used mobile device only for communication purpose. For present requirement, people are liking smartphones, tablets, phablets.

Normally smartphone screen size exists under 5-inch. It is enough for normal calling purpose and daily use like Internet surfing, audio, video.

After this, tablet had come with 7 inch and above screen for more enjoyment through screen. The screen of tablet is measure between 7inch and above. They look like large smartphone with additional capabilities.

Phablet gives 5-7 inch screen size of mobile for use. At present era, people want bigger size in smart devices.

Specifications and Features: Different-different companies are launching smartphones, tablets, phablets with different-different features and specifications.

Tablets are not designed for portability, they are too big for making calls and people can't put tablet in own pocket. Tablets are famous for their larger screens and easier web surfing, reading e-books, social networking and video watching capabilities. Basically, tablets are like mini computer.

They feature a full virtual keyboard which is useful for online chatting, social networking and sending emails. Tablets also have dual camera, which can be used for take pictures, while the front facing camera can used for video chatting and video calling.

It also provides good multimedia facility, watching videos, surfing Internet. Phablet is a term commonly used to describe a gadget that combines the capabilities of smartphones and tablets. Phablet usually larger than a smartphone, but smaller than a tablet.

The major difference among smartphone, tablet, phablet are mainly that, smartphones are able to making calls and known for their portability.

The smartphone have Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. This means they are able to connect internet through a Wi-Fi signal, and are able to use the 3G networks to call, send SMS, as well as, send and download data. However, most tablets only have WI-Fi connectivity. phablet is also give Wi-Fi and 3G networks.

Difference between 2G and 3G

"G" is stands for generation. "2G" networks, that means wireless network based on second generation of mobile technology. 2G cellular telecom networks were commercially launched on the GSM standard in Finland in 1991. TDMA (Time division multiple access) and CDMA (Code division multiple access) is used in 2G technology. TDMA allows several users to share the same frequency channel by dividing the signal into different time slots. CDMA service is dispense a special code to user and several transmitters can send information simultaneously over a single communication channel.

2G technology
gives the services like all text messages digitally encrypted(information converted into code). 2G and 3G technology have authority to give services like text messages, MMS(Multimedia messaging service), picture messages.

"3G" is the third generation of mobile telecommunication technology. This generation is based on set of standard used for mobile devices and mobile telecommunication services. The networks are executed with the International Mobile Telecommunication-2000(IMT-2000) specification by the International telecommunication Union. 3G technology is the standard for accessibility and speed of mobile devices.

It was first used in Japan in 2001. The 3G technology is known for enabled use of various services like GPS(Global Positioning service) and video conferencing. It also provides better bandwidth and increased speed. This technology is also comfortable with 2G technology because 3G spectrum covers the spectrum of 2G technology. Here, we are discussing about "Difference between 2G and 3G". It will be helpful for you.

Difference between 2G and 3G:

Cost- The network construction and maintenance of 3G is much expensive than 2G. Expenditure of 3G service is excessively high for users.

Data Transmission-
Data transmission is the main difference between 2G and 3G. A user find much faster download speed, faster access to the data and applications in 3G networks as compared to 2G networks. 2G networks is less consistent with the functions of smartphone. The data transmission in the 2G network is less than 50,000 bits per sec while in 3G it can be more than 4 million bits per sec.

Function-
The 2G technology transmit the information through voice signal while 3G technology transfer data via video conferencing.

Features- The features like video transfer and GPS systems are the additional features of 3G, that are not available in 2G technology.

Frequency-
The 2G technology refers the wide range of frequencies in both upper and lower band, under which the transmission depends on factor such as weather condition. 3G is not available in certain region.

Security-
3G offers you best security than 2G technology.

Speed- The downloading and uploading speed available in 2G technologies are up to 236 Kbps while in 3G technology downloading and uploading speed are up to 21 Mbps and 5.7 Mbps respectively.
